My husband and I own two homes in Crystal Beach. We try to keep one rented while coming down on weekends and enjoying the beach and staying in our other home. We have three children. When we go out for bite to eat, we have decided that Bob"s is the only restaurant that we can take our children to and actually feel that we are welcome to do so. This meand a lot to a family. Bob's is also the type of atmosphere that provides my husband and myself a comfort zone when we are lucky enough not to have the children with us. That does not happen often, but sometimes we get lucky. Bob's is a really cool place. Keep up the good work Bob....... |

Bob's has been on the island for 13 years. It has the rich and unique flavor of a French Quarter Restaurant. The menu consists of Burgers, Steaks, FRESH DAILY SEAFOOD including OYSTERS when in season and house made recipes that you will not find anywhere on the Island. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner. Catering requests can also be accomodated. Bob's is the only restaurant or facility that offers FREE WI-FI Broadband. Families are welcome along with any item for TO-GO customers. The facility has 8 big screen HD televisions that will satisfy any request that a customer has.Call in advance for reservations or come as you are. Everyone is welcome at Bob's.....THE LOCAL HANGOUT WHERE TOURISTS ARE MADE TO FEEL LOCAL !!!!!!!!! Bob's also offers diet conscience menu of Chef Salad, grilled fish, chicken and other chef specialties. Priced cheap to moderate. Kid's menu available. Try the rest, then dine at that best !!!!!!!! Piano Bar available !!!!!!!!! OH, don't forget that we have the best homemade PIZZA south of Chicago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I have been eating at Bob's since 1994. I remember when he was still the bartender. We fish primarily on Boliver and East Bay and am down their at least 2-3 times a month with our travel trailer and boat. After all this time and trying other places the only place I will eat at is Bob's. The Muffaletta is delicious and big enough to feed a shrimp boat crew. The burgers are big and can fill up a normal person, but I can eat two! The beer is colder than any on the island. It is also cigar friendly, something I greatly appreciate. It is a family atmosphere and kids are always welcome. Having two young children myself, cleanliness is also important to me, and Bob's is always spotless. A great place to eat and relax, then go fishing again. If you only come to Boliver once or every weekend, don'y miss the chance for a great meal and a good time.

Bob's has everything all in one place. Have some food, drink a beer, watch the game, enjoy the company of everyone there. Bring a friend or bring the whole family. My mom has lived in Crystal Beach for many years and our favorite place to eat and hang out is Bob's Sports bar. The food is of the best quality and quantity. You could never be disappointed. Be sure to try their pizza, it's the best on the island! |

My wife, kids and I arrived somewhat late on a Friday night. The place was packed with tourist and locals. After a long Ferry wait, we wanted to just eat and get the kids fed. To say we were suprised at the quality and service is an understatement. Being late we opted for the burgers. The burgers listed on the menu as a half pound of ground beef, as it turned out, were all that and more. Burgers are served on paper plates and come with raw onion, crinkle-cut pickles, iceberg lettuce, and rather tasty tomatoes. You have a choice of cheese—American or Cheddar, and ketchup (Heinz) or mustard (Heinz), or a wonderful chunky blue cheese. As for the beef, it was remarkably fresh and nicely broiled with a rough, crusted char; the patties were irregularly hand-shaped, loosely packed, and fairly juicy. Standard-issue sesame-seeded buns served their purpose well in being supremely squishy, melding quickly with the cheese and beef into one delicious, harmonious whole. In short, the burgers at the Bob’s did indeed rock. We are all looking forward to returning to sample other menu items, as some of the seafood items passing by our table looked wonderful.

As my regular visits to Bob's Famous Sports Bar and Grill continue, each visit is met with a friendly presence and smiling face. The food is consistently fresh, hot and good. The beer-always cold. The supreme pizza is fire hot and delicious. The hamburger is large with fresh beef and cooked to perfection. Seafood, well the seafood is always FRESH. Just seeing the rib eye steak makes ones saliva glands work overtime. Go by soon. |

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Crystal Beach while in town for my nephew Patrick's wedding. I found Bob's to be the most attractive dining destination on the penninsula. The few times I was able to dine there I found the food to be delicious and the prices very reasonable. I highly recommend Bob's to anyone that may be visiting Crystal Beach and don't forget to say "Hi to Bob"!!!!!! |

Bob's is BY FAR my favorite restaurant on the peninsula! The seafood is fresh, the burgers are huge, and the pizza is to die for. The best thing on the menu is the crab nachos! They're fabulous!! Bob and his friendly wait staff are a bonus to an already enjoyable evening. It's also a great place to watch sporting events. Bob has multiple screens that offer a variety of different games. My family goes to Bob's every time we are in town, and I highly recommend it! |

We go to BOB'S every time we go to Crystal Beach. The food is by far the best on the beach in terms of quality and price. The atmospshere reminds you alot of the French Quarter of New Orleans. We go there mainly to have a get away from the big city. The waitstaff make you feel at home. It seeems like a local hang-out where everyone is welcome. If you are looking for that great homemade burger or that fresh Shrimp PO-boy, look no more. We all have found it at Bob's.

It was about 7:00 PM and this little place was FULL. My husband and I just found this place. We are from Iowa. I wasn't sure we could be seated, but a server named Rockie told us to just wait a minute and we would have a seat. The manager Brandi came to us within a minute and told us a seat would be open soon and if we'd like something to drink she would get it for us. We wanted to look at the menue, and she got us some and said our menue is no secret, it can be viewed by all. Less than a minute later Lauren asked us if she could help.
This little place was full and romping. No place to sit or stand. Just the few minutes we were in there, THREE employee's made us want to be there although there was nowhere to sit. Because of the hospitality of the people there, and, this packed little house seemed different, we chose to wait a few moments for a place to eat. True to what Rockie said, a place opened for us in just a few minutes. It was a tall stand up table.
Our order was taken and we were served within about ten minutes. There were other people waiting to find a place to sit around us. The Manager came by again to see if we were OK. They were so swamped, but they still had the time to care for us.
THE FOOD WAS MORE THAN ANYTHING WE EXPECTED!!!! How can such a small place exist? FOOD...EXCELLENT service..YOU won't find it anywhere else.
The only drawback is that people can't find a seat in this little gem and go elsewhere. I watched as people came in, looked around and left. I feel sorry that they couldn't experience what we did.
They give five stars to some fancy places, but I give this little place TEN. Five for service and five more for taste! The owner of this company should try to expand this little darling! Your food and staff are absolutley untouchable!

Tired and frustated that you cannot get any thing decent to eat after 11 P.M. ? Craving for that Super Breakfast Burrito at 6 A.M. in the morning ? How about that Breakfast Sandwich loaded with bacon, lettuce, cheese, fresh eggs and tomatos ? That all american favorite !!!! Well folks...starting in March it will be here. No more frustration . Along with this new program , catering services will become available with ample notice. Approximate time should be 2 to 3 weeks in advance. This is happening soon at Bob's. The nightly menu will be Quality Food at Affordable Prices. |

Husband and I came to the beach yesterday. We are from the Clear Lake area and thought in the morning we would go down to the beach with the beautiful weather forecast, By the time we arrived ( the ferry was horrible), we were both dying for a bite to eat. We entered into the Crystal Beach area and started looking for a place to eat. When we approached the downtown area we noticed man cars at this place called Bob's and decided we would give it a try. What a great decision. This place was awsome. Does not look at all from the outside what you would expect on the beach. As a matter of fact, I would have a hard time finding such a comfortable place in our home area. The atmosphere awsome. The food fresh and totally tasteful. The service was outstanding. We were impressed. We go to the beach quite a bit and we now have found our little HONEY Hole. If you read this Bob or if there is a Bob, how about opening up a spot near us. You would make a killing !!! Very nice place. Also noticed several families. We have noticed thru the last several years a booming Bolivar Peninsula but we had no idea that this place was present. Simply put WOW ! And, we had a great time on the beach which was very clean and orderly. The Bolivar Peninsula has come a long way. |

I'm addicted to Bob's Sport Bar. SERIOUSLY, I CAN'T STOP EATING AT BOB'S. When I'm feeling like I need to watch my waistline I love the chicken and veggies or chicken sandwich. When I want to splurge I go for the juicy fresh cheeseburger. Everything made from scratch in the back - are you kidding, nobody else does that in the restaurant industry. Bob's has friendly employees and a great family atmosphere that is also quite upscale for the beach. People think it's expensive, but the truth is you get what you pay for . . . Bob's is the best VALUE in town. Try a Bob's Steak Dinner, and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. And, those fries are out of this world. Maybe not good for the waistline, but sure are good when you bite into them. The place by the way, has THE LOCK on the crab nachos. I'm getting hungry by just writing this review. I just left the place an hour or so ago.

The place was packed on a Friday night, but we were seated in 10 minutes just like they promised. Good to see that the place has really caught on----Mark and his staff work hard to earn your business. The staff seems to work together to offer the very best service. Case in point: the owner actually took our order and answered questions about the menu; then we had 3 different servers----one brought out the food; another checked on us asking if everything was ok; a third filled water glasses, brought extra napkins and took care of our check. The staff seems to be unselfish. The result is great service because if you need something you just flag down the first waitperson you see. Wife ordered shrimp----plump and tasty. You have to ask for it, but try their remoulade sauce. They have two, one is spicy, both are very good, and both are excellent to dip fried anything in. I had heard of but never tried a BBQ Po-Boy Basket, so that's what I got. Never been to North Carolina (where the dish comes from), but if theirs are better than Bob’s, then Carolina here I come! |

Bob’s Sports Bar is a great place - it was one that I used to pass by, thinking that I must try it someday. Once I started about 6 months ago, I became a 'regular'. HAVE a seat WHEREVER you'd like and your server will be right with you" This is said EACH and EVERY time you give an order- even though I am a Regular, I hear this, which is nice because it's a reminder and good for when I bring friends along, in case they go another day without me, they already know what to do!
About the menu - spectacular burgers! Burgers are supposed to be juicy, not dry. They are wrapped in a sheet of burger wraps to help keep them together, but if your meat slips out, that just lets you know you are eating a genuine burger!! They have a WIDE variety - from plain, to veggies only, to bleu cheese, bacon, and even Tuna Burgers, Mushroom Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches (grilled and fried), Catfish Sandwich, Tenders and many MANY more choices!
The onion rings are the best I have ever tasted, if you only ask what you can get instead of fries, the host will tell you that you have many other options instead of fries.
The price is perfect for the amount and quality of food you get. I always end up taking like half home with me. And if you are unable to consume an entire adult entree, you DO HAVE THE OPTION of ordering a Kid Plate, made like every thing else…GOOD !!!!!!!..
So if you are curious, just ask! The service there is splendid! I always feel welcome and always know that I will be served with the utmost respect and care! They always have great music going and there is a liveliness to the crowd that visits each day! It's a nice place to eat, visit, and just be merry!!
Thank you Bob’s !!

Strong points: waitstaff. He's got some good ones now, had some scary ones in the past. The atmosphere now is definitely a local hangout, there's not so many places to go here and this is one of the cleaner ones. The food is GREAT. I do have to take issue with that "fresh shrimp poor boy" comment though. They're about as fresh as Sysco has if that is what the poster meant. The kitchen is usually open till 9 which is good. Drinks are not watered down and reasonably priced. Good beer on tap too considering it's a tiny town.
Weakest point: the ocassional drunken obnoxious customer that invariably will want to associate with you.

This place is a great way to take the stress away from a hard day. This sports bar offers a variety of options from sports on 8 different channels, to satellite music and THE BEST HAMBURGERS and FRIES I've ever tasted. Bob’s has it ALL. The crab nachos and the rib-eye nachos are my favorite treats. You should visit, you will be glad you did. Only issue, Friday nights is usually very crowed, so arrive early as there can sometimes be a wait on the food because they are always busy cooking more delicious food! |

Best hamburgers I've ever had, period. The french fries are so crunchy good that they actually taste like a potato too, but the onion rings really stand out. If you're a fan of onion rings, don't miss them here. The toasted-baked buns top the burgers off, literally and figuratively. Prices are not out of line with other burger joints -- if you want to pay fast-food prices, head to the drive-thru. I've never had a problem with service, usually getting my food within 10 minutes or so of ordering.
They also serve crab meat nachos. I don't eat nachos often but theirs are the best in town. All the pico and salsa you can eat are available to go with your food. If you're grumpy about waiting around on a Friday or Saturday night, just go on in and enjoy the place. You will be amazed that this place is in Crystal Beach. You would expect such a place in the city.

Where did this place come from ? Been coming to Crystal Beach for years and noticed the cars parked around this place. Holy Toledo, never imagined such a place like this existed on this beach. Quite a pleasant surprise. The waitress, Brandi was super. An older woman was there along with a girl named Rocky. This place was full and rockin and these girls just made it look so easy and made you really feel welcome. The food was simply outstanding. Would never have guessed it. If there is actually a Bob, you have a place and a crew you can be proud of. To whomever owns this place, I tip my hat to you. I travel quite a bit and have been to many, many restaurants. This is not fine dining , but it was a fine experience. Everyone in restaurant seemed so happy. I had the typical burger and fries and simply put, the meal was outstanding. Very hard to beat. Looking at the food coming out of the kitchen was even more impressive. If their really is a Bob, you may reach me @ r.strarks@gmail.com. We need to talk. |

My wife and I have owned a cabin in Caplen for 25 years. It was quite upsetting to hear that Stingaree Restaurant had caught fire and would be closed for 2 to 3 weeks. Last night upon learning this, we decided to go looking for another place to dine. We turned right on Highway 87 and proceeded towards the ferry. We have been to Steve’s’ Landing and thought we would try another place. As we approached the Swede’s store intersection, we noticed many vehicles parked at Bob’s Restaurant. We had never tried the place and figured with so many cars that we would give it a try. We parked next store e at the subway which to our surprise was no longer there and went in the restaurant. What a pleasant surprise! We had heard about this place but had no idea that it was so comfortable the moment you walked in. A total shock. We were immediately spoken to and told to sit wherever we liked and were waited on promptly. The place was full and the girls on duty all seemed very friendly and worked well together. The owner actually came by our table and asked if everything was alright. This is something that you do not see that often. The food was outstanding. My wife ordered the crab nachos and I went with the fried fish basket. Superb service and food. We will place this on our to go list. This place just is simply different than the other places we have been to since at the beach. We have been coming down here for nearly 25 years and it is hard to believe that such a comfortable make yourself feel at home style place is on this peninsula. We can remember when this place was a drive thru beer barn. My oh my what a difference. A must see and try place for those of you that have never been there. |

I am from Lafayette, Louisiana. I visited Crystal Beach this past Memorial Day week end. During our visit, a group of us went to Bob’s. We had noticed that the place had broadband services and decided to give it a try. The place was packed and the food was wonderful. However, two things stand out about this place. Number one, it reminded me so much of home. I frequent New Orleans on a monthly basis and this place is so very much like a quarter bar. The second thing and perhaps the most important one was the owner. I was having a tough time trying to connect to the network and asked for help. One of the waitresses said she would go get someone to help me. It happened to be Bob. I could tell that he was a little agitated but I could expect this because the place was packed. He sat down and said let me have this thing and turned it to his side of table. He looked at the laptop and looked at me and said “ I have one of these and Dell is Hell “ I did not quite understand what he meant but he spent 15 minutes of his time all while exchanging pleasantries. He was finally able to connect the laptop and then he said, “ Sorry about what I said earlier but Dell computers always have a trouble picking up the signal. I then understood what he had said when he first arrived at our table. He thanked us for coming in and asked if everything was alright. I then realized that this man really cared for his customers and I went on and thanked him. This type of service is priceless and that is probably why the place was packed. I highly recommend this place and want to again thank Bob. Bob, you have a really nice business. Our group will be back.

Bob’s is a great casual restaurant to go with friends and family. They give you large portions...it is almost like getting two meals in one. They also have great crab nachos that as the sign says are to die for. I love their shrimp kisses that are made right in that tiny kitchen that throws out food at a pace that is simply astonishing considering how busy it gets in there at night and on weekends.. My favorite is the cheeseburger with the crispy fries. These fries actually taste like potatoes. Not sure where or how they make them or if they order them from a company, but they are the best I have had other than the ones I do at home that take forever to deep fry. Just as long as they keep doing them, I really don’t care. The food is always fresh and the service is about as good as it gets. The place needs to be bigger. Maybe Bob will enlarge it. I enjoy coming to get good food for reasonable prices. I would recommend going to Bob’s. The place also has broadband internet service free and the coolest rotating fan I have ever seen. You can sit there for hours and not see all the neat stuff that adorns this establishment. One of my favorites anywhere I go and my number one place when I come to the beach. Bob, why don’t you go fishing? You have the staff to take care of the place. Don’t think about it, just do it ! You will feel better. Your friend……… |

My husband and I went there today and were very pleased with our entire dining experience. The environment was clean, classy, but very comfortable and inviting. Our waitress was very friendly and engaging as were the owner and his friends who also acknowledged us to say a polite hello.
The food was delicious - the crab nachos I've tasted to date. My husband actually smiled when he took his first bit of the catfish/shrimp dinner and told me this would be his new "spot." This is coming from someone who's not easily impressed. As for the prices, we felt that every dollar was well spent. We'll definitely be back soon.

WE STRONGLY LOVE THIS PLACE! Bob’s has always been one of are favorite places to eat. We love the burgers, pizza, crab nachos and the rib eye po-boy sandwich. Bob’s has a quite large menu and we are always noticing a variety of different foods coming out of the kitchen, but by and far the burgers rule The service is second to none and for being on the beach for all these years, we know that it must be a hard thing for any employer to get good help. Somehow, Bob is able to do this. His girls are the best of the best of any eating establishment on the beach. Brandi and Rocky are by and far two of the most concerned and caring people that you will ever meet. Bob, we are sure you take care of your employees because they actually cover your back more than you could ever imagine. You need to give these two a raise. P.S. Bob, at first we never thought Jackie would make it. We figured you would send her packing. You made a wise decision to let her ride. She is a valuable asset as well.
